We absolutely love Hodsock Priory, it is without doubt one of the very best wedding venues in Nottinghamshire of our favourite locations to shoot at. Any enquiry we receive for Hodsock is so exciting as the chance to return and shoot here again is such a thrill! The grounds and gardens are without doubt some of the most stunning we have seen – everywhere you look there are well established and beautiful flowers that make for a perfect backdrop for photographs. So, we can see why Rachel and Keiron booked this wonderful venue for their wedding day.
But before we reached Hodsock, we photographed a really emotional ceremony in Mansfield, at Rachel’s family church. Keiron could not contain his emotions as Rachel walked down the isle and there was not a dry eye in the house to be seen.
After the ceremony, we decamped outside for ribbon waving (a really nice alternative to confetti!) and took in the summer sun. Which brings us to the weather – oh, the British summertime, how we love you! It was such an unpredictable day weather wise, with bright sunshine one moment – heavy rain the next (we got more than a little drenched as we walked to the church – but kept our cameras dry of course!) Luckily, after a few showers once at Hodsock, sunshine took over and all the guests were treated to what felt like a proper summer wedding. This year has been so up and down so it was great to have a few hours solid sunshine for guests to enjoy out on the lawns.
Rachel and Keiron are such a lovely couple and we loved photographing their day – they are clearly so in love and have a beautiful family. Here is just a small preview of the images to come. Rachel and Keiron loved their preview photos, saying: “These photos have honestly captured a real feeling and not just an image. I’m so excited to see them all! So glad we chose youto photograph one of the most important days in our life.”
