We photographed our first wedding at the Tythe Barn in Oxfordshire recently. What a perfect day it was! The theme was black tie and the colour scheme a gorgeous gold. We travel the length and breadth of the UK every week. Without a doubt one of the things we love most about our job is visiting new places. And the 400 round mile trip we made to the Tythe Barn was more than worth it. What a stunning venue for a wedding photographer to visit! Despite photographing weddings a year, we visit new venues all the time. In fact, it is rare for us to visit a venue more than twice a year. This helps keep our work exciting and original. Here’s the story of Allex and Chris’ beautiful Tythe Barn wedding. Photography by Hollie and Patrick.
As a wedding photographer, your job is capture the most important day in a couple’s life in your own style using your own approach. This is a real privilege and an honour. Our approach is to keep things simple – we don’t pre plan any shots. We don’t set anything up. It doesn’t matter to us if we’ve been to a venue before. We’re not the kind of wedding photographer who tries to create moments. This is because we just let things unfold naturally and photograph everything as it really happens.
We don’t pose our couples or their guests. We just want every one to have the time of their lives and then photograph it in our own style. So whether we’ve photographed at a venue ten times before or are visiting it for the first time like this wedding, our approach is the same. This simple approach makes every wedding we photograph unique as the images are all about the personalities of the people in them. The photos are not about us – they’re about the wedding, the couple and the guests. And a wedding like Allex and Chris’ was just so fun to photograph in our natural style.
What a fantastic day it was. Allex looked absolutely stunning in her amazing wedding dress. And Chris in his tuxedo was altogether dapper! There were so many emotions for us to capture all through the day. Of course, the venue is beautiful as well. We already cannot wait to return to the Tythe Barn and photograph our next wedding there. With bases in the North and South, we photograph weddings all over the country. So, wherever you’re having your big day, please contact us for a quote. We would love to hear all about your big day. We hope you enjoy looking through these images. They are just a small selection of our favourites from this beautiful Oxfordshire wedding.
